Retreat to an other defense point if things go bad. Time before they reach you, but that also give you the chance to They both slow down pawn walking on it (with a small chance of giving damage)Īnd they are extremely useful vs melee factions. There is the wooden barricade and caltrops. As the time pass, make it longer and longer. Use at least rocks.īuild corridors full of it in a way that allies and your own pawn can walk They will swarm you.ĭon't use the wood one, this is a waste. If you didn't hurt them enough before they reach you, you are death. You can't get turrets before a long time so the best is traps. ![]() If you got attacked by the medieval factions, you have to expect a lot of meleeĮnemies with armors. but chances are that you will just end up passing off the animal rather than killing it. It's low damage will allow you to subdue would-be Raiders without killing them or causing permanent injuries. This is a good weapon for base defense and capturing prisoners. Wooden club: does blunt damage and is below average rate of attack and low damage. But that one Pila should have done a decent amount of damage so bows won't have too much trouble finishing the job. After one throw you want to run your Pila thrower away from the animal and use bows and guns to kill the animal. The Pila thrower should throw the first strike while everyone else waits for the animal to respond. I generally equip it on my trigger happy or jogger pawn and draft everyone for a hunt and have everyone else set to aggressive action (so they fire back automatically). I only use it when hunting predators or big game. Pila: The Pila hits HARD but has very short range and has one of the worst rates of fire in the game. I only use it if I sell the jade knife for some reason and don't have a good crafter. This is probably the worst weapon you are given at the start of the game. Wooden spear: Like the knife it also cuts targets so it can be used for nocturnal hunting but attacks much slower and deals less damage as wood is not a good "sharp weaponry" material. Consider putting your best melee fighter on the night shift. Works great at night when animals are asleep as accuracy for melee on a sleeping target gets a 300% hit rate buff. If their bleed rate exceeds 100% then stop stabbing and let it bleed out. Check on the animal's health periodically. If it does chase you, you run away for about 5 seconds or until it stops chasing you. If the animal does not chase you then you run back in and stab again. Bigger game requires you to perform hit and run stabbings where you strike the animal once then run about 5 tiles away. It can instantly kill the smallest game (squirrels, rabbits, chinchillas and rats) and can kill things like raccoons, cobras, capybara, iguana, and monkeys in 2 or 3 hits. Jade knife: This is your best melee weapon. There really is no wrong way to use this weapon. Has a decent rate of fire but low damage per shot. Causes damage in the form of cuts so targets take less injuries but bleed out sooner. Short bow: Standard usage in hunting and base defense. On a tribal start the vanilla game grants you the following weapons: 2x short bows, 1x jade knife, 1x wooden spear, 1x Pila, 1x wooden club. Next up is weaponry and how to best use it. Arm or hand wounds restrict skilled workers (crafters, constructors, artists & cooks) and leg injuries restrict anyone who is not a researcher. ![]() ![]() Pawns who can't firefight, mine, tame animals, social, craft, research or do art can be accepted, in moderation.ġ0. Passions or burning passions in Research, Crafting and medicine. High stats in cooking (at least 6), construction and growing. Here's what you look for in your first five starting pawns:ġ. I will give you a few posts about the differing aspects of tribal play throughs beginning with the character selection process. I love the added challenge as well as 5 pawns that I can custom pick myself. ![]()
