![]() ![]() Rift Apart ĭuring a Resistance mission to steal an infobot on Nefarious City, Corson V, Rivet came across Clank, damaged from his and Ratchet's dimension-jumping conflict with Dr. Īt some point, Rivet broke out of Zordoom Prison with Angela Cross. Following this, Rivet built herself a robotic arm, but had a deep mistrust of robots. One day, Rivet found a secret entrance into the Emperor's tower and attempted to sneak in alone, only to have warbot KT-7461 (who would later be named "Kit"), while working for Emperor Nefarious, sneak up on her and blast off her right arm before suddenly stopping its attack. Throughout this time, she had few friends outside of the morts, and no companion, conducting her missions alone. Rivet came to work for the Resistance movement, alongside others including Captain Quantum, though Quantum eventually left for the space pirates. As it stands I probably rate it below those and a crack in time.Rivet was raised by the morts on Sargasso, working for their gelatonium refineries as a delivery person. If this game had a little more side content like GC or UYA I think it could’ve been the best one yet. There weren’t a lot of gadgets to open up new paths, no vehicles or space combat and the arena was really short. The biggest shortcoming in my opinion was a lack of replayability or even a need to return to old planets. Villains and side characters were lacking, the Lombax plot is STILL being dragged out and the concept of alternate dimensions was played a little safe. Story was definitely good but not perfect. ![]() Emperor Nefarious felt like a good threat as well but at the expense of Dr Nefarious being regulated to a Saturday cartoon villain. I missed meeting random funny npcs on various planets. Weapons were all fantastic, so nice to have a variety of weapons that all feel great and have different uses rather than some of the more generic repeats we keep getting.Ĭharacters were great, Rivet and Kit are fantastic additions to the series and some of the bots and other npcs (like mort, or mort) were great. ![]() Not least of which is literally due to it being short. Definitely felt like a return to form for the series but fell a touch short of being one of the greats. It’s an absolutely gorgeous game and the most fluid and fun in terms of regular gameplay. It feels like Insomniac is testing the waters to see if the series is still viable and they crushed it with Rift Apart. I’m really looking forward to seeing where the series goes after this. This might be because I chose the harder difficulty, but I have enjoyed the challenge that the game has posed. I feel like both my level and guns are taking far longer to level than they did in previous games. My only complaint so far is that it seems to take a long time to level anything up. The gunplay is amazing and feels as tight as always, especially with the adaptive triggers. While the story is slightly thin at points and feels slightly derivative for the series, I’m really enjoying the spin on the different characters and their counterparts in the separate dimension. ![]() I stop to stare at the scenery and textures quite often and marvel at how much Insomniac has been able to achieve with the game. I’m currently on my first play through of the game and I can easily say that it’s one of the most technically and graphically impressive games that I have ever played. ![]()
